Darla was born on February 5, 2010 at 6:22pm! Mark was right there next to the doctor helping through the entire delivery. Darla weighed in at exactly 8 pounds and 18.5 inches. She cried for just a minute, then they put her on my chest. Both Mommy and Daddy burst into tears! She looked right in my eyes and was very alert! She was rosy-pink with a perfectly round head, if I do say so myself. :) Daddy cut the cord and was able to hold her shortly after. They gazed into each other's eyes and it was clear that she recognized Daddy's voice from all of those times he talked into my belly! The best moment of our lives, for sure.
Have you ever seen such a beautiful smushed-up face!?! "She's a BIG baby," said the ultrasound technician. Seven and a half pounds with a few weeks to go!
